investì
tutto il suo tempo
ad impegnarsi
a imparare
e cercare di migliorare
convinto
che una cosa assimilata
non sarebbe stata
scordata mai.
Dopo settimane
i concetti si fecero meno chiari,
si mischiarono tra loro
fino a perdere di significato nei mesi
e di senso negli anni.
Le cose dette,
troppo spesso,
Young Widows have the X factor, a je ne sais quoi. The sound is brooding and sinister, evoking bleakness and alienation with ease. At the same time, the songwriting is super tight and thoughtful - compositionally this band is miles ahead of most other noise rock/alternative rock outfits. If you liked Deftones' Gore and would like to listen to it done right, check out this compilation. Amazing group. Cosmographer
Classic emo sing-a-longs trade blows with tormented post-hardcore passages on the Brooklyn outfit's powerful sophomore LP. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 3, 2024
Strange and angsty alternative rock from Los Angeles that hovers between haunting and pretty and sharp and driving. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 27, 2023
This one also took me a while to get into. It strikes me as less HC than Untitled and less poppy than Ultrapop (stupid I know). Let's call this the No Wave record. Its musical (and amusical) density is matching the persistent sound in my head right now. barnaby nygren
